Linkin Park has been forced to cancel its China tour as lead singer Chester Bennington has suffered a back injury, and is under doctor's orders to refrain from traveling or any physical activities.

A statement posted on Linkin Park's official website said the band was canceling shows scheduled for October 12, 15 and 19 in Shanghai, Wuhan and Beijing.

The band also canceled its show in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan.

The concerts were organized as fundraisers for victims of May's deadly earthquake in China's Sichuan province.

However, thanks to the promoter of its Chinese concerts Emma Ticketmaster and Linkin Park, funds will still be contributed to the band's nonprofit organization, Music for Relief, and matched by the World Bank.

Santana to become a church minister

Legendary rock guitarist Carlos Santana has announced he plans to quit music to become a church minister.

In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, the 61-year-old musician revealed he would be a churchman in Maui, Hawaii after his retirement in six years time.

Santana described in the interview how his faith has helped him get through low points in his life, including his divorce last year from Deborah, to whom he was married for 34 years.

He also revealed he is not making the change because he is tired of making music but because he wants to motivate people to believe in God.

His two-disc with the title Multi-Dimensional Warrior, a compilation of Santana songs from his 40-year career, comes out on October 14.

Clay Aiken finally admits he is gay

Former American Idol singer Clay Aiken is finally confirming: He's gay.

In People Magazine issue dated Oct. 6, 2008, Aiken acknowledges on the cover that he is homosexual.

The scoop was first reported by celebrity gossip and blogger PerezHilton.com.

Aiken said having a child recently gave him the impetus to come out. "I cannot raise a child to lie or to hide things," Aiken is quoted as saying.

Several weeks ago, Aiken became the father of Parker Foster Aiken, a child he fathered with good friend, Jaymes Foster, composer David Foster's sister.

Aiken had previously dodged questions about his sexuality. In fact, in an interview two years ago, he asked Diane Sawyer why it was her business to ask. Questions about his sexuality, he declared, were just "rude."

Heavy metal band Metallica is among nine nominees announced for induction next year into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The Los Angeles band jumped on the heavy metal wave of the '80s and rose to become the most successful and acclaimed heavy metal band of their era - a position they've consistently held for over a quarter century.

Last month the band released Death Magnetic, which marks a return to its early speed metal days.

Artists become eligible for the Hall of Fame 25 years after the release of their first single or album.

The 2009 ceremony will be open to the public for the first time, and held in Cleveland, the home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Museum, for the first time since 1997.
